Wireless Video please help.......
Hey guys I just got roped into using my DVX tomorrow for a live event.
They want to run a wireless feed to a set of Plasma screens. We rented the Modulus 3000. I have zero clue how to set this thing up and there is no manual with the system. Any advice on how to set up the DVX with this Modulus 3000 would really be helpful. I also have to record at the same time. There is a tech handling the plasma side of this operation. Thanks in advance |

I wouldn't say anything because I have never used that equipment, but your event is tomorrow. Wireless video should be as simple as a cable, but it needs to have power. Your transmitter and receiver should have an input and output respectively. The minimum should be composite with S-video as an option. The receiver is on the projector/plasma side set up so it has the clearest possible reception. You will need to either split the signal and send one to a deck or record the event in-camera. If it is a long event, a full-sized DV deck with the extra-long tapes would be handy.
Honestly, I have never used a wireless video transmitter as I would be nervous about interference. I have always run long cables and taped them down to the carpet. Test the equipment's transmission range immediately! I would bring a long composite cable as a backup. You can turn long coax cables into RCA-ended cables with an adapter from radioshack. |

Reason being is that this wireless feed will most likely run through analogue out of the camera, to the transmitter. Now with the DVX, all ur screen data is visible through the analogue outs as default unless u turn them off.. Another thing to take note of, is that when ur luminance levls drop, you footage WILL get rather ugly.. not only for the recording your making, but on a plasma panel it wil look even uglier... |
