Re: Sony RX10 II - Love it

Anyone know what wireless flash triggers can be used with the RX10 for off camera flash? Sony seem to have their own wireless standard but it requires one of their flash guns on top of the camera to trigger one of their flashes remotely.

I can now answer my own question as I have tried the camera with various triggers & can confirm that both the Yongnuo YN-622C & The Yongnuo RF-602/C work as manual triggers for the RX10M2. More expensive at £215 but even nicer as it offers TTL & HSS is the Nissan Air-1 wireless controller & Di700A flash gun & up to 21 Di700As can be controlled in 3 groups.

I made the mistake initially of buying a Sony HVL-F60M flash gun for £326 & then discovered that the RX10M2 cannot wirelessly trigger an off camera flash even a Sony one. Sony's 'wireless' is the same as the old Canon idea of 'wireless' i.e. infra-red not radio so short range only & the RX10M2 doesn't have the necessary hardware. There is no way that I was going to use the HVL-F60M on top of the RX10M2 as it is about the same size & weight as the camera. Happily I have just received a very prompt refund refund from Amazon.
