Two Camera heads

A while back I recall a thread showing several people's setup for mounting two cameras on a single tripod.

I'm sure Roger was one and someone else had one too.

I'm looking for a similar thing, although I'm actually looking to mount two 7" monitors rather than two cameras. The only commercial ones I can find are quire expensive £90+ for a bar that you still need to mount adapters to.

Anyone recommend anything?

Re: Two Camera heads

Below is the item you might have already seen. I have one from when I ran M4/3 system cameras. It is a nice bar.

In the thread you refer to there were some do it yourself suggestions, I'm sure someone will pop in with a link for you.

Re: Two Camera heads

Thanks - that's the one I've seen - though it's the same old $99 in the US, $150 here :(

Re: Two Camera heads

I have used the one linked to for two stills cameras but now use this one:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Manfrotto-82.../dp/B001GCUMYU
I had the central locknut break on me through over tightening on my part so I had an engineer make me one out of steel. It's cheaper and lighter than the arm linked and will easily support two monitors.

Re: Two Camera heads

Hi David, this is my multi mount, which uses the Hague twin camera mount, plus a clamp mount for a third camera. Here is the link to the plate Hague Camera Supports | TCM Twin Camera Mount

Re: Two Camera heads

Thanks guys - that's a couple of alternatives worth looking in to... best of all they got cheaper as we went along :)

Hey Dave, here's one of the earlier threads: http://www.dvinfo.net/forum/wedding-...ne-tripod.html.

By the way, does "two cameras, one tripod" sound like a porn film to anyone else, or is that just me?

You guys must have money to burn. Why not go to an engineers shop and ask the apprentice to make you one.

I assume you did that for tripods and fluid heads as well?

Why spend the time and energy trying to find an engineers shop that is prepared to do the work, when I can have one delivered the next day, cork faced, slotted and fitted with threaded mounting holes and attachment screws and nicely enamelled for £27. Do you really think you can get an engineering shop to get an apprentice to match that for less money? Let me know where, could be a new business venture :-)

Re: Two Camera heads

That Hague one looks like a "fancy" version of the one I cobbled up for myself from some bar stock from the local big box hardware supply... I don't think I could have made it that cheap if I'd paid myself!
