Re: Two body 7D or one body 6D

How many do you have now?

If you have a 5DMK2 as your post suggests then the 7D is a perfect match (mk1 or mk2 though?). Almost identical footage.

The 6D is a great camera and amazing in low light but it will put your older cameras to shame, so much so you may find you using them less and less.

I would personally get a camera to match what you have already.

For video, I would look at the 70d over the 7dm1. The auto focus for run and gun is great, and I think the image would be equal if not slightly better than the 7d. The 7dmii is a different story...

Came here to say the same thing as Brian.

If you're going to get a crop factor Canon, might as well get the 70D. The STM lenses to take full advantage of the facial-tracking auto focus are inexpensive as well (the 28-135mm STM is probably the best, though I like the 40mm f2.8, and we use the 55-250mm STM for the long reach).

Otherwise, if you want another low light camera, either the 6D or 5d Mark ii or iii would be best.

Don't even consider the 7D with the over heating issue. 1 6D and 1 70D is the way to go in my opinion.

I would suggest installing Magic Lantern to make the 5Dmii more usable for video.
