Re: Two body 7D or one body 6D
How many do you have now?
If you have a 5DMK2 as your post suggests then the 7D is a perfect match (mk1 or mk2 though?). Almost identical footage. The 6D is a great camera and amazing in low light but it will put your older cameras to shame, so much so you may find you using them less and less. I would personally get a camera to match what you have already.

Re: Two body 7D or one body 6D
For video, I would look at the 70d over the 7dm1. The auto focus for run and gun is great, and I think the image would be equal if not slightly better than the 7d. The 7dmii is a different story...

Re: Two body 7D or one body 6D
Came here to say the same thing as Brian.
If you're going to get a crop factor Canon, might as well get the 70D. The STM lenses to take full advantage of the facial-tracking auto focus are inexpensive as well (the 28-135mm STM is probably the best, though I like the 40mm f2.8, and we use the 55-250mm STM for the long reach). Otherwise, if you want another low light camera, either the 6D or 5d Mark ii or iii would be best. |

Don't even consider the 7D with the over heating issue. 1 6D and 1 70D is the way to go in my opinion.

I would suggest installing Magic Lantern to make the 5Dmii more usable for video.
