Inexpensive but good lav mic
Found this on Amazon UK
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 At only £41 I thought I'd give it a go - what a revelation - well engineered, comes with a screw attachment and 4 popular connectors - 3.5mm jack/sennheiser jack/2 types mini xlr. It has no battery, taking it's power from 'plug-in-power' (will work with Zooms/Olympus mp3 recorders etc) and has a cardiod polar pattern. It comes with 2 wndsheilds and 2 tie clips. The cable length is nice and short as well - unlike my soon to be retired Audio Technica mics which have a 6m cable and bulky battery compartment I tested it alongside my Sennheiser ME2 mics using my Olympus WM311 recorder and I was pleasantly surprised. The output is a little lower but adding 9db in Premiere brought that up nicely - it's a little crisper then the ME2 but I like it, it seems to make the ME2 sound a little murky in comparison - I'm going to buy another as a backup. |

Re: Inexpensive but good lav mic
Sounds good Peter. I use a Giant Squid Audio lav - which at the time was touted as being great bang for your buck from a guy in the states who, as i gathered just made them himself.
But I've never had anything to compare it to. So I can't actually say that its good... I'd be tempted to buy a few off Amazon, do a wee comparison and return them. |
