Priest Audio

Hi Guys,

Just returned from my wedding in Mauritius and have to say it was one of the hardest projects of my life however I am happy with the footage. There is an issue and that is the priest delivered the entire sermon in broken english as he was french speaking and had trouble stringing a sentence together. It sounds awful and the couple have asked me is there anyway I could just overlay another sermon over the video and create a montage.

He was Chinese so if anybody does have any audio that they could send me that would be great it only needs to be a minute and it will play over a 30 second highlight.

Many Thanks

Re: Priest Audio

Might subtitles be a better route than using such a thing as a sermon from a different event?

Re: Priest Audio

Overlaying another sermon would, to me at least, we worse than excluding the sermon altogether. It's false, they'd know it was false and it just wouldn't sit right with me.

If it's only for highlights overlay, can't you edit the voice to cut out much of the broken empty space and make it sound more fluent ?

Re: Priest Audio

I agree Pete

Subtitles would certainly clear up any unclear audio and the original audio would be true to the event!

You could, of course, get someone in to overdub the priest audio instead of a montage which would be far more natural but still very tricky.

Surely that was what happened on the day and how it was Tariq ?? If it was my wedding I would want to remember the day as it occurred not a false audio track. They chose the priest and that's how the wedding went. I cannot see how using audio from another wedding would be able to sync with existing footage unless it was over dubbed by a pro watching the video and applying their own track.

Go with the sub titles and make it authentic!!

Re: Priest Audio

The couple should just be grateful that it is actually in good enough English that they know what is being said unlike this couple who had a destination wedding in the Maldives.
