Royalty Free Wedding Music
I am curious, does anyone have any recommendations for good royalty free music sets?
Back when we started in early 2000, we spent several hundred dollars on a 10-disc set from somewhere and while it has been relatively decent, it's been showing its age for a while and I really need to get some new tunes. Where do you guys go for good, non-cheese as possible, background music for general wedding stuff. Thanks! |

Re: Royalty Free Wedding Music
Hi Kyle,
I don't know of any music sets for weddings. About the closest thing I know of is a music creation program called Smart Sound. You don't have to know much about music and it will allow you to choose a song length as well as take out or lower the volume of instruments. The program only works with Smart Sound music tracks. Smart Sound has some okay music and then some not so great synth/sampled music that sounds dated and or cheesy, but they do have some nice options. As far as price. I think the program was free when I purchased a minimum number of tracks. I bought into it when they were running a special price of 25 songs for $250, which I think is about half of their normal price. An added benefit of Smart Sound is that you own all rights to the songs and can use them as much as you want. There are several other royalty free choices out there. They all have different prices and different terms of use, so make sure you look into all of the details. This is not an all inclusive list, but it's enough to get you started. Re: Royalty Free Wedding Music
Digital Video News, Reviews and Forums at DVInfo.net have some bona fide commercial hits e.g. Etta James 'At Last' that can be licenced for $30 although Marvin Gaye's 'I Heard It Through The Grapevine' is probably not ideal for wedding music:-)
https://www.smartsound.com have some good stuff that as Mark says can be customised. At one time you had to buy ten tracks on a CD for about $100 but they now do downloads of individual tracks. They are forever having sales & special offers as anyone who has signed up for their mailing list will confirm. |

Re: Royalty Free Wedding Music
Thanks! I'll check that out.
I remember back in Premiere 5 or 6, there was a basic smartsound thing included with it. In fact, sometimes I'll hear some Smartsound tunes on local cable commericals and what not that are produced locally, because I've used the same ones in years past. lol This is another one I saw in a thread below: The Wedding Video Album | Neumann Films |

Re: Royalty Free Wedding Music
Video Blocks and its sister company Footage Firm do have enough selection that you will probably find _something_ you can use. Try the seven-day free downloads at Video Blocks. I did that and actually ended up using a couple of tracks on a wedding video.
PS. I should add that I did the trial for a different reason and only happened to find some tracks I could use. For me, it didn't make sense to sign up. Last edited by Alen Koebel; November 25th, 2013 at 12:21 PM. Reason: PS |
