Would the insurance still have paid once they realized shooting for hire with these things is illegal in the USA?

This is the exact scenario I've described in past posts. This has it all, violation of one or more FARs and potential for a claim and subsequent denial under an illegal activities exclusion. Insurance companies must love these guys.
