Tips and techniques on editing the Highlights portion

For years I've been editing my wedding highlights the same way. For some reason I feel like there could be a much faster way of doing this. I've always, seperated my files (i use 4 canon dslrs) and made individual folders for things like "ceremony, cake cutting, flower toss, first dance" etc. Then imported all folders and just picked the best shots from each little event during that day, and timed them to the song that was picked. Anyone else do something different, or maybe offer some advice on how to change my current workflow?
