Yamaha Pocketrax c24 settings

Hi all,

Just got my hands on a Pocketrax c24 and keen to use it as a groom/minister mic this weekend.

Anyone got a quick reference guide to what settings work best for this unit? Best lapel?

Re: Yamaha Pocketrax c24 settings

Hmmmm, been using this for a couple of weeks with an Azden EX-503 lapel and aren't that impressed. Seems a hell of a lot 'noisier' than my iRiver's with Giant Squid mics.

AUTO sucks. Best results I've had so far is input volume at 34, auto off, high sensitivity, high pass off, peak limiter on (3secs)

But iRiver still a lot better.

Re: Yamaha Pocketrax c24 settings

I have a iriver and a zoom h1 as well, both produce a cleaner sounds, thats true, but I use the c24 also when I have no time to set up audio right and to just place it on a table to records a persons voice, in that case it does better then the zoom h1 with it's external microphones. Same as I attach it to a handle of a wireless microphone and it gives me good sound. When I plug my giant squid lavs I set the mic sensitivity to high and audio level at auto and eventhough it's not as clean as my zoom it's more then good enough for my use and at least way better then just the onboard camera mike.
