Wedding tomorrow on the beach!
First time on the beach in West Palm Florida
Any suggestions to combat the wind noise?

Re: Wedding tomorrow on the beach!
Check the weather 10 Day Weather Forecast for West Palm Beach - weather.com it says wind at 15mph? yep outdoors you'll need something to cancel it.
Also says 30% chance of rain, what do they plan for plan B? (They need a plan B, everyone needs a plan B :) What mic (mics) are you using and do you intend recording the vows with it? Cheers.

Re: Wedding tomorrow on the beach!
Hi Johnnie
One of my most useful tricks is to put a lav mic on the groom but not on his jacket lapel but as close to the centre of his body as possible. Then make sure that he stands with his back to the wind, even if it means foregoing the traditional bride on the left as you are facing them....if the wind is howling up the beach from that side, then swop them around so the groom's back acts as a wind break!! Prevention is always the best idea so protect the mic from the wind however possible!! Chris |

Re: Wedding tomorrow on the beach!
How many people are invited? Will they not use a microphone for the ceremony? Most of the time on the beach weddings I do they use a microphone and so I just tap into that audio feed.
Besides that a good shotgun mic with a wind filter such as the Rode Deadcat can work just fine. |
