3rd Documentry cam - GoPro HD HERO?
I want my package to include a simple documentary edit of both the ceremonies and speeches. Originally I was just going to rent a Canon HV40 for each gig. Would a GoPro HD be acceptable and match up better to a dslr?

Assuming that you're talking about indoors, ceremony shots and such, I'd say no, not a good match. DSLRs are noted for their good low light capabilities. The GoPro HD Hero is a great tool for many unique situations, but its low light imagery is not so good. Excellent image in bright light, poor image in low light.

How does the Canon HV40 compare in low light?
