Best wireless lavalier kit to go into a H4N?

I recently bought the Audio Technica PRO88W-R35 VHF at a wedding, but hated it so I sent it back. When plugged into the H4N it has some pretty bad interference and static, and I was only 10-15 feet away from the transmitter. So i'm ready to spend some good money and get a quality wireless kit that I won't have to worry about when I plug into my H4N to record.

What does everyone recommend as a wireless transmitter/receiver kit for weddings when plugging into the H4N? Thanks.

I hate that you had to find out the hard way, but yes, VHF is NEVER a good choice. Always go with UHF. With that said I currently own the following:

I have to say, I love the Sennheiser the most, but it does come with a higher price tag. A cheaper option would be to find a used Sennheiser G2 set.

There was a thread here that discussed the problems of interference with wireless set ups and how all were susceptible to this problem.

I should also mention one other thing to keep in mind is whether you want the Lav mic to be omnidirectional or cardioid. The omnidirectional picks up sounds from all directions, this is great for picking up the Groom, Bride, and Officiant all on one mic. The cardioid would be limited to one direction, which is a much rarer case to use in weddings. The benefit to the cardioid would be that it rejects all other noises, such as audience, room noise, and other extraneous sounds.

I used to use wireless into my recorder but have decided to just place the recorder and lav on the groom directly. In my area (Boston) I was getting too many dropouts, so I am selling my Sennheiser G2 on eBay, let me know if you want it.

@Jim,

I might be interested in your Sennheiser... how much would you be asking and does it come with an XLR transmitter/adapter for a handheld mic?

Thanks!
