T1i with HV20 & HV40?

OK, I got booked with payment for a wedding in June and I am needing some major advice on more equipment. I thought I wouldn't do weddings anymore (only did a few and wow the stress!), but got called again now and received payment, so what do ya do?

My brother owns a t1i and wants to get rid of it, should I offer to buy it for wedding videography and music videos (I also just started shooting for my niece who's becoming huge - 2 million views- on youtube)? There's also other stuff I do on the side (video bios, school concerts).

If so, what lenses do you recommend? If not, why? And if not, what should I buy instead?

I have shot a small handful of weddings and have been reading these forums till the wee hours of the night for I don't know how long. I want to make a nice cinematic wedding video for this bride that just paid me $1200 to only shoot the ceremony & bridal prep, no reception! Yikes! I'm so nervous! I just hope she doesn't change her mind and ask for reception coverage and a SDE!

Here's what I have:
HV20
HV40
Raynox Wide angle .66
Dynex DX-MW010 tripod (yes, I'm realizing I need to invest in a better one-which one?)
Another REALLY cheap tripod
Zoom H2
FCP 7
PSE 8

I have rented an XHA1 for previous weddings with the Sennheiser G2 from ATS Rentals, and plan on renting the Sennheiser again for this one.

Yeah, pretty limited I know, that's why I'm here. Please help!

And am I totally losing my mind by thinking I can get what I need for $1500-3000?

Please be nice...I'm just a short Norwegian girl from Wisconsin!

Re: T1i with HV20 & HV40?

I'd steer clear of the t1i. It only shoots 720p30 or 1080p20 so won't match very well with the HV20/40. It also has no manual control.

I'd recommend just renting for this one, and sticking with what you've used in the past. As you say, weddings are hard enough without having to learn new equipment on the fly.

For a decent tripod, check out some of the offerings from Libec. The TH-650 or TH-950 are great value for money.
