Recommended counterweights for Glidecam?
I just bought a Glidecam 2000 Pro to use with my Canon HV40, which weighs about 1.5 lbs. Is there some place online that gives a recommended number of counterweights I should use based on the weight of the camera? This is my first experience with a Glidecam, so I am very new to the balancing aspect.

Hiya
I hope this sounds helpful and not patronising: Basically check the manual (or online tutes?) about how to balance it - it will involve trying different quantities of weights in the base (you get a few in each base container, unscrew the containers to see them). Then you'll want to adjust the pole length, as well as the position of the camera on the top. I've successfully balanced both a Canon XH-A1, and also a Canon 7D on mine, which I hope proves there is a bit of leyway! cheers |
