Is getting a DOF adapter for an HV20 worth it when using an XH-A1 as the main cam?
A Jag35Pro looks like a great combination of price/quality. However, I usually use the HV20 for wide shots as it is obviously vastly inferior to the XH-A1 in picture quality. With a DOF adapter on the HV20, do you think trying to get some close shots would end up doing more harm to the video than good? I have NEVER been able to properly match the XH-A1 to the HV20 for clips shot within 15 feet of the subject...the quality is just too noticeable.

Sorry Arif, but your post just doesn't make sense. Are you asking if a DOF adapter will improve your image quality?...make it look like the XHA1? Well, the only thing a DOF adapter, or rather, Lens adapter will allow you to do is interchange lenses. This will give you a shallower depth of field...and maybe more contrast. The best thing to do to match the footage is to adjust your custom settings in camera, and be sure to shoot the same frame-rate.
There is a great thread here that lists some specifics on matching these cams, a quick search should bring it up. Good Luck. JS EDIT: I see you already found one of the threads...but there is another, maybe someone has the link. |
