Contract for selling footage?
Hi all
I am close to making a sale of several bits of footage but am concerned about the minefield of broadcast rights/copyrights contracts etc. Are there any basic contracts or rough set of rules out there that I could use to create something. I understand that I should be agreeing a time period, say 2 years useage, and I need to state the region or country where it will be used but what else? I am selling some very rare wildlife footage. Some to be used in a locally produced series (only in Cambodia) and some to be used internationally (as yet no details on where). With regard to the Cambodian series, I am producing this so my contract will be for the sale of rights to a local tv station. An additional problem here is that I have been given permission to use some very rare footage that belongs to a large conservation group who are very paranoid about its use. I obviously don't want to get my arse sued by them if the TV co did something dodgy. Any suggestions or help would be most appreciated. cheers Allan Michaud |

I wouldn't even think about it. Otherwise you can ask them first. But its smells trouble here.... cheers Alexis |
