Hi Todd,

I'm not in Orlando, but here is a link to the Orlando video association. It's a great place to network with local videographers.

Orlando Wedding Market.

Hi I am a member of PVCF group. The competition is hot. With the recent economic downturn some of our members who have usually had good bookings in Oct. have only one or none for the month. For our members the average wedding goes for $1500- to $2100-.
You have to be a good salesperson to command a higher price.

Several of us shoot everything in Hi Def. & edit in that format; only go to SD when transferring to DVD, in order to preserve the quality of the image. Still hard to break out of the aforementioned price range.

Good Luck

P.S. Just talked to the former president of PVCF. The average price brides are wanting to pay is $700- to $800-. One bride is holding the reception at the Omni Rosen Hotel(very expensive) dj's are getting $1100- to $1200- & they are likely paying the still photog at least $1800- plus. Problem is they have not been
properly sold on the value of video. Good Luck

I try to avoid weddings actually but for what its worth, Event videography is pretty good here due to the number of conferences that come into town @ Disney, Universal, and International Drive. It may not be weddings but it is something to do between.
