Flash animation on my site
I haven´t seen many of these so I thought I'd try my hand at one and put a little animation on my site. It didnt take long to do in After Effects and I think it looks rather cool \ cheesy, haven't decided yet..
It's on the left-hand side bar. www.danburnap.com Thanks Last edited by Dan Burnap; July 31st, 2008 at 12:16 PM. Reason: mistake |

Don, to me it looks like an external banner ad that was placed on your site. Which IMO devalues the site as a whole because it resembles one of those free template sites which typically have ads crawling all over them. I don't know about anyone else, but I NEVER click on those ads and I almost always pre-judge the site based on seeing those ads. I think a nicely done static banner that fits with the theme of your site can be just as effective in grabbing attention.

It looks good to me, although the black background makes it look sort of detached from your site design (which is a bit sparse, "template-y").
I don't agree with Yang that an ad like that is a bad thing. The content clearly shows that it's for the site they're on now (yours). And people like to click on these things (more than they should, no doubt). George/ |
