Quick Burning DVD Recorders

I'm beginning to produce event videos with output of 'instant' video clips to DVD. Does anyone have suggestions for a well-priced DVD Recorder that burns quickly? Time of course is of the essence when capturing live events.

The quicker you burn, the slopier (if that's a word) the digital dimples in the dye. Burn Slowly so those ups and downs are sharp and readable.

"Burning" DVDs fast should be done with equipment far better than we have in our PCs or mass copying devices, such as the big disc shops which don't burn but actually press.
