3rd party RAM for Mac Pro!
Hey guys,
I'm planning on ordering 8GB (2GB x 4) for my new Mac Pro from a 3rd party company. My question is, Do I have to remove the 2 GB (1GB x 2) apple stock RAM came with Mac Pro inorder install the 3rd party RAM? It was advised in few places to have RAMs of same manufacutre and same density (2GD, 1GB stick). Anyone running their Mac Pro without any problem with 3rd party and stock RAM together? |

You don't need to waste the apple supplied ram. I think I read this over on barefeats.com.
I shop around for ram at dealram.com

no problems
I have the original Apple ram and third party ram in my mac pro, no problems. you just have to install matched pairs. I have always bought ram from OWC.
