Engagement/Romantic Ideas at DVinfo.net

I am going to do an engagement/romantic video of a couple whos wedding I will be shooting next month. As many of you know I am a professional photographer who LOVES Video and wanting to start doing some of that too.

I need some ideas for this type of session. I have no problem capturing it with stills, but video, and this time of year in NW Pa makes getting creative a little harder.

Does anyone have some clips to share that may give me some ideas.

I have got several DVD's from Mark Von Lanken and am really learning alot and love his style. This the best investment I have made since the XH-A1

Im moving away from the romantic style cheese and having fun with my couples.
Im throwing the ideas around of a Matrix send up (as in "The Matrix - The Path of B and G") to one particualr couple (hes a sci fi freak)

Now im doing alot of compositing with this one (Mr Smith anyone...) and some trippy particle effects to but it should be fun. The chase the bullet shot and "bullet time" shots are going to be rather amusing... LOL
The idea is to tell the story in a very different way as this will be playing before the SDE and we dont want it to be typical.
That and the fact im bored... busy but bored....

Should be interesting ;)

Weve been moving away from the romantacised videos because not every couple is all wishy washy. Obviously theres a place for it, but Id rather have fun with the shoot and edit and get something totally different out there.

Last one we did i think we did a parody of how they met, how he stalked her and how he got her. It wasa series of 10-15 second skits and he DIDNT want to do it (she did). So i threw the idea that if theyre going to look silly with it, may as well go all the way and push it over the fence. So we had him stalk her in the bushes... steam billowing out of his ears... an anvil fall on him and squash him (ala Wile E Coyote).. her slapping him after he whispers something in her ear (with the BG track being "I Like Big Butts" or whatever its called)
It was really stupid stuff and wasnt something people expected so it worked out really well.
