In proper light? If by proper light you mean outside in daylight then I'd say it's a pretty even match, but we're talking about weddings here. How often are your shooting situations ideal at a wedding?

If you're curious about the HV20/30 then pick one up. They're dirt cheap and if you don't like it, you can sell it at a slight loss. You'd probably only lose at most $150 on this little test run if you really can't see a use for your new toy.
I tried it out and got an inexpensive deck and emergency backup camera out of the deal.

Yes! Hopefully there're some smart people here can make a preset for A1 that match the color of HV20. that would be perfect.
