I am starting to think that the "local situation" will really play a role in this.
There is simply very little market for high end video here in central maine. I charge under $1000 and still am regularly being undercut. So as you see, this is probably a much different world than most of you live in!
There are some awesome high end photographers here, but even they are being replaced with relatives.

just be careful Ron,
They'll start to get better at video and
you'll get more experienced at wedding photography and
ye will both be charging peanuts.
If I were you I'd be more inclined want to improve my own videos,
they can always be improved.
Up your prices (within reason). The public directly associate
price with quality in this business,
and put them to shame.

Ger, you are right it doesn’t seem to have a positive end. Besides I don’t like taking still shots I am a video man. I just wish they were not so greedy.

I guess if it all goes bad I can always be a Wallmart greeter

My wife and I are way too soft. We would never add photography, but when the mother of the bride is going to do it, it just pulls our heartstrings. We're not tring to make a buck, but to make sure the bride doesn't miss anything. Actually the bride I'm talking about decided to have family do both photo and video, so it's moot.
