I have as many wedding booked so far this year as I did all last year, so things are looking up. But then again last year wasn't so great. My only advertising is my website and a listing on WeDJ.com. I am a part-timer so I only can do about 12 weddings per year without ending up with a nasty backlog. I hope to reach my limit this year so I can raise my prices. I held them steady this year because last year was so slow.

I agree with the common consensus. At the shows we're getting a ton of interest, but this year the brides seem far more hesitant to book. They're not going with other people -- they're just not doing anything. I do think they're spooked by talk of a recession.

Our 2008 is looking pretty good, and our bookings are slower than last year after the bridal show, but we did raise our prices by $1200, so that was intentional. We have booked 6 in the past 2 weeks since the bridal show, so that's down so far from 12 for last year, but with the price increase, I'd say we're about par. We are slam packed for the first 6 months of 2008 and second half is filling pretty fast... but no slowdown in interest that I can see.
