Anybody attending the CPS Expo in Vancouver, Toronto, or Montreal?
There is a cross Canada Canon expo going on right now that some of you may want to check out. They have an EOS station with all their lenses/bodies, large format printers/projectors, and a video section which includes an A1 setup with a brevis 35mm adater. The great thing is that we can grab any Canon lens from thr EOS booth and try it on the brevis with a fully lit toy train setup.
We (still-motion.ca) will also be showing of some of our work and answering questions at the expo for anybody coming to check out any of the shows. I believe we are in Vancouver next week, Montreal the week after, and then Toronto I believe. Info is on Canon's website and I can also PM invites to anybody interested in checking it out. http://www.canon.ca/CPSE/ Patrick |

Hey Patrick,
I'd be interested, if only to meet you and your team. PM me an invite if you don't mind, and if I can get it into my schedule, I'll come down. I see it's being held at the Palais de Congres in Montreal. Coincidently, that's where the guys who give me most of my work have their studio. I've showed one of them your work and he loved it. Before my son was born (18 months now) I was there editing every day, but now I work from home for now. Look forward to hearing from you, Vito |

I went to it, but moreso for the 'photography' side of things as thats what I do (wedding photography). I sat in on two of the seminars, plus the keynote at the end. I got to check out their newest dSLR gear which was a major plus.
In the end, I gotta say for a photographer, the end keynote by Vincent LaForet was amazing! The guy has shot some of the most amazing photographs ever, and I'm pretty sure almost everyone has seen his photos. I just wish I could of had more time to attend more of the seminars. |

Hey Jeremie,
I went. It was geared more towards photographers, but I really wanted to meet Patrick and see a bit of how he works. He was demoing the brevis 35mm adapter, and showing some of his steadicam stuff. He was also very open to any questions I had, which I thought was very generous of him. That was worth the trip right there. I also went to a couple of seminars. The Production Studio CS3 one, which was pretty good. Got a good idea of what it can do. Also went to the Final Cut Studio one, but it was too basic to be useful. Cheers, Vito |
