Re: Kevin + Rebecca | Wedding Highlights | Serendipity Studios
Nice one Travis. Don't you just hate it being at such a dreamlocation and having rain poring down on you? It looks like it was only the first part of the day that it rained but imagine having it raining all throughout the day. No ceremony outside, no dancing on the boat ouside deck etc. Now you could use it to your advantage (after rain there's always sunshine :) and I guess you had a 5D to work with, I couldn't film with my 550d in those conditions unless I had someone following me with an umbrella.
I have had 2 weddings this year when it was poring rain, in one they had a very romantic location planned out in the fields with haystacks with an amazing view but a passing storm decided otherwise so we ended up in a much to small room with hardly place to put my camera's, that's what you get when living in a country that has so unpredictable weather I guess. :) |

Fantastic, loved the somewhat 'chilled' pace to the edit, felt easy to watch. And good to know there is still hope for a great film if it decides to rain (living in the UK, this is very important).

Re: Kevin + Rebecca | Wedding Highlights | Serendipity Studios
Thanks guys. What I didn't mention before is that the ceremony was moved inside and we had just spent 30-45 minutes setting up all of our gear and shooting b-roll when the groom rolled in and told us they were moving the ceremony outside because the rain had stopped.
I laughed. Literally. I laughed out loud. Then I realized the groom was serious, and I knew how important it was for them to do the ceremony outside. It was the only reason they chose that location. We had 10 minutes to relocate all of our gear to the outdoor location, which was 400 yards away. Backbreaking and stressful task, but we did it. d;-) |

Awesome film! What did you do to prevent your gear getting wet?

Re: Kevin + Rebecca | Wedding Highlights | Serendipity Studios
Thanks, Taky. Luckily it was only a light sprinkle for the ceremony. For the other shots when it was raining harder we mostly just used our bodies for cover, or used vegetation or structures. We had an extra umbrella available but it was too much of a hassle given how fast we were moving and shooting.

Hello from the frozen north where wedding cinematography is an afterthought (sadly).
Glad to see you are still shooting amazing videos! |

Travis, thanks for sharing! This is just... sick!
It's especially impressive given how you moved to an indoor location, and then back outdoors, 400 yards away, in some 10 minutes. Truly professional. |

And yes, moving all of our gear after having set it all up was a huge challenge and given the time we had to do it ... well, it was insanity. But that's basically what filming weddings is, lol. Thanks for watching! |

Hi Travis
Have you changed "Serendipity Studios" to "Black Label Films"? I always love your videos. Stelios

Yes, Black Label Films is now the cinematography studio. Serendipity Studios remains but as photography only. d;-)
