Connecting an LCD monitor to a Sony DV deck
Hi I was hoping I could get some advice on this, as everyone here seems FAR more knowledgeable on the subject than I am.
I run an ROV (remotely operated vehicle) at my work, and the video feed comes in to a DV deck with a 3" monitor. Needless to say, it would be a lot easier to navigate if the screen was larger. So, we've purchased an LCD monitor. However, the only output on the DV deck is composite RCA, S-video or firewire, and the only input on the monitor is component RCA, DVI, VGA and USB. I've been looking at some converters like this one http://www.gocybershop.ca/customer/p...2&cat=0&page=1 to convert s-video to vga. Does anyone have any experience with these, or know anything simpler or cheaper? The other think that I was thinking of, but wouldn't know how to make happen would be to handle it via a computer that we would have on site. It has a firewire input and a VGA output, so if there was a program or something along those lines that could convert the firewire to monitor output, that would remove the need to carry around one more piece of equipment. The only limitation would be that it needs to run in the background, as the computer screen would be occupied with another ROV display. I'd really appreciate any kinds of suggestions that you have to offer. Let me know if I need to clarify anything. |
