Sony PVM-D20 for 1080i/720p viewing?

I have access to a Sony PVM-D20 that has no add-on boards installed. I am trying to figure out if it will display 1080i/720p signals. From the specifications in the manual it looks like it will handle these signals, but I don't know enough about working with 1080/720 to know if I can bring the signal in through rgb/component connectors.

Anyone know where I can find some basic information out on working with HD signals? Thanks!
