Sony LCD HDTVs for PC Monitors, any advice?

I’m in the market for a new HDTV + PC monitor. I started reading the online pdf manuals at the sony site and each one says not to hook up your PC to the TV using HDMI, they want you to use the old 15 pin RGB port instead. My question is why?

thanks

Walter,
No computer video card I am aware of does the HDMI output that is compatible with a TV HDMI input. It's possible that Windows Vista will change that, but I doubt it. Too many spec wars and DRM wars to make technology easy, simple, and available! :)
