MustHD 7inch monitor/input?

im currently using an Ikan 7inch monitor with my ex1r. although its very sharp, its much brighter than my lcd, so i have to first set my iris before i can reference with the ikan, otherwise, going off the ikan, id have a very dark picture.
ive heard the MustHD 7inch is worth a look.
input welcome.
are there any good 7inch monitors that give good color and match well with the LCD

Re: MustHD 7inch monitor/input?

Jim,

I use a low end Marshall and a 7" Must HD. Just like you said, out of the box the Marshall is too bright so I knock it back. Big difference in quality between the two monitors.

The Must HD has a default setting that is closer to the LCD but not perfect. I think ALL field monitors should be adjusted correctly so I am not sure what your after? Once you adjust your Ikan you should be fine? Why would you set iris instead of adjusting the monitor?

Since you have an Ikan I do not know if a you would realize a big net gain by spending the top dollar for the expensive MustHD. They are good monitors, but worth it? Maybe? I am glad I have one, but very expensive. And don't forget to look at the al la cart pricing on everything Must HD, including the SDI input.

I don't think Price: $399.00 is high
The MustHD_1280x800 monitor is really good and it has many functions including a Zoom that can make adjusting focus easier.
I also use an Atomos Ninja II and the (internal & external) recorded images are closer to the MustHD than the GH4 or A7s LCD.

The SmallHD 7 inch monitors run from $599 to $2499 with the same resolution

and there is the superior Shogun at $1999 with an included recorder.

Re: MustHD 7inch monitor/input?

Gentlemen,

I just got a big laugh at myself. My post above was a brain malfunction. I do not own a MustHD monitor. I am not even familiar with the line. I have the more expensive SmallHD AC7. I read MustHD and I thought SmallHD :)

Sorry about that. My post will make more sense if you change my comments to SmallHD.
