HDMI event playback
I have an event coming up where I need to playback a video during the event. Typically I just give a digital file to the AV folks and they play it. In this case, there are no AV folks. The people at the event space said there is an HDMI wall plug for me to tap into. I work off an iMac so running it from a laptop isn't an option. I'm thinking about getting a lightning to HDMI converter and playing it from my iPad, but I have read mixed reviews about those. I suppose I could play a DVD through a Blu-Ray player, but that seems over complicated. I was wondering if anyone knew of any simple means of playing back the video, that I am missing.

Re: HDMI event playback
Hi Andy,
To give you a good answer(s), more information is needed. HDMI wall plug? To what? A projector? TV display or ? Is there sound? If so, is the audio piped via that same HDMI or is there a separate sound desk/PA system? How far is that HDMI run? HDMI can go maybe 50-75ft IF heavy gauge wire is used, but if thin, you might lose signal - that is if it makes it at all. What iMac do you have - IOW, what does your model use as an output connector? Does it have DVI or Display port out? What's the video source? Quicktime, final cut or ?
