Small HD Battery Problems
Hi,
Is anyone else having problems with there batteries holding a charge? I am on my second set and starting to have the same problem the first set had. Also how long are you getting out of your charge. Hour, two hours? Cheers, brian |

Small HD
I had a couple of the blown batteries, they would not charge up very much, I had no problems getting them swapped out. I thought that Small HD had gotten a different batch of batteries, I haven't had any problems with the new batteries as of yet. Are you leaving the cord connected to the monitor, that will drain the battery even if the monitor is off!

I had one battery go bad and they rushed me a replacement. Supposedly their supplier gave them a batch with some duds in it and they've upped the QC in the latest batts to avoid whatever the problem was. if yours is acting up, drop them a line.
On the normal batteries, i get a little over 2 hours per charge. Seems to be slightly different depending on which input i'm using. I'm not sure what kind of batteries are inside the case, but i implement normal "battery life paranoia protocol" regardless. I charge them fully, and discharge them fully, and avoid leaving them sitting on the charger for much longer than needed. The cord connection thing is odd but accurate. If you leave the cord plugged into the smallhd battery - even connected to nothing else - it seems to drain down way faster than a battery with nothing connected should. Not sure what thats about. The worlds least efficient LED? hehe. |

One of the batteries in my initial order was also from the bad batch.
Since raising this issue with Small HD their support has been superb: a full, prompt explanation with a replacement battery on the way (all the way here to New Zealand). This won't be an issue for new purchasers as Small HD have had their suppliers change the circuitry and charging port. I'm really impressed with their service. |
