On Camera Monitor
I have been looking into purchasing a monitor for my xl1s. I rented a panasonic 7 inch for a little shoot and loved it, although i think its a little pricy. I want to be able to acuratly tell the focus and exposure. To many times i have been fooled by the xl1 viewfinder, giving me grainy footage. I have been looking at the varizoom tft on boards, would u guys recommend them? I know samys in hollywood sells them, but the ones they have on display dont work, and they wont open a box to let me see it in action. Very frustrating!
Anyway, thanks for your help. Rich |

Take a look here to get you mouth watering:
http://www.nebtek.com/5inch/NEB50Xlpage.html You can purchase a lcd monitor like the ones sold here, or I know a few guys who just hook up their xl1s to a battery powered dvd player- hey, when your not shooting at least you can catch a movie ! |

Hey go with the Nebtek, it is well worth your money. I have had mine for about a year and a half and have loved it. I can see my image in direct sunlight even when I had to shade the image on a 8 inch sony monitor.

The Nebtek's are very good. One of our sponsors ZGC has a nice
deal and package specifically for the XL1. This includes the correct battery mount etc. Check it out at ZGC Matt, do you know if the screen displays a wall-to-wall image? In other words, does it crop some of the picture like the XL1 color viewfinder does?

Hi Rob,
Sorry for the late reply to your post... Yes it does... The "wall to wall" image you see in your viewfinder is exactly the same on the NEB50XL. Regards, -Rob NEBTEK rob@nebtek.com
