Need an edit monitor

I edit on FCP and currently use a Panasonic LH1700W. I want to move the 1700 into the field to monitor location work. I had wanted to replace the 1700 with a LH2600W but learned today that the model was discontinued and that a 25 inch monitor is replacing it but that it costs another grand - effectively putting it out of my reach.

Does anyone have recommendations for edit monitors? I heard about the Sony LMD 2050 and think that it might work.

I decided to go with the Sony LMD2050WHD. The BKM-243HS card is included and that will give me the SD and HD input options for editing. I wish that Panasonic had continued with the BTLH2600W. My 1700 was the first Panasonic product I ever bought and after being a Sony guy all these years I was feeling good about their brand. The price on the new 25 inch which replaces the 2600 is too much for me. Man, with the way pricing is going out there it sure seems to be a roll of the dice with regards to product differences, product benefits, and product quality.
