FCP/video monitoring issues

My setup:

I have the following signal chain: FCP 6.x running on a 2.4 Ghz Intel Core Duo iMac ---> out firewire to a Sony HVR-M25AU deck ---> out component to a Panasonic LHW2600 video monitor.

My problem:

When I play a regular DV tape in this configuration it looks great on the monitor, no problems. However, after it is digitized and plays back from FCP I get a weird, consistent video "snap" in the lower scan lines which then immediately goes into a green flash of the entire screen ... this then repeats itself. When played out S-Video there is no flash but still jumping in the lowest of scan lines. Note that this is only seen on the Panasonic, not in FCP, nor on the small monitor built into the Sony deck.

What is the deal and how do I fix it? I thought about sync but the deck doesn't even have sync. I've used this type of video monitoring a lot in the past and have never had this issue.

Any thoughts out there?

Thanks!!
