attaching HD monitor
My current set up is SD, and I run my SD "program" monitor off of firewire, thru my SD camera.
I'm going to be working on an HD project - the clips delivered to me as files on a DVD - and I'm borrowing an HD "program" monitor. My question is: Can I hook up this HD "program" monitor via firewire thru my SD camera, the same configuration I have now? Thanks for any advice you can give... Bob |

Via firewire - No. Most HD monitors have either SDI or component inputs. If your camera is an SD camera it will not be able to convert your HD signal much less "see" it.

so my only options for feeding an HD monitor from my workstation are thru an HD camera or an HD tape deck? or are there any other cards I can install that will allow the same thing?
Thanks for your response! |

I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for. I added an ATI Radeon X1650 card to my workstation. I run it to my 1080P TV. It drives both a regular LCD monitor and TV at the same time.
