Please help with HD monitor?

Hey guys, I have two questions to ask. I am looking to upgrade from SD monitor to HD monitor for my canon A1 and the Redrock M2. I have this one, http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...D_Monitor.html, and I'm looking to upgrade to this one, http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...D_Monitor.html.

Question:

1) Is it a good choice? Like, will I see major difference from the Ikan V8000HD? I just need a decent HD monitor to focus and exposure. I don't really care about color reproduction of the monitor. I can use my camera lcd for that other stuff.

2) I have read quite a few posts on the con's and pro's of the Ikan V8000HD. For the money around 700-800 dollars, is the Ikan V8000HD the best choice out of the bunch? or is there other product I should look at?

I appreciate all the inputs, guys. Thanks!

The guys over at FreshDV reviewed the Ikan a while back and had good things to say about it calling it the monitor you can afford to own, not rent.

I hope this helps. I've been in the market myself and still haven't come to a decision.

I looked that monitor last year at NAB and it's pretty nice, but still only 800x480. You should see an improvement over yours, but it still isn't anywhere near high definition.

Have you seen this old thread? http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showthread.php?t=91877

I think the Panasonic BT-LH80W was the nicest little screen I saw at NAB last year, but it ain't cheap! See this thread: http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showthread.php?t=91998
