UWOL 56 - Everything Changes
For this challenge I decided to go "old school" and dug out my old Sony FX7 HDV camcorder. For being 15 years old I think it did pretty well. Freedom for me is being outside and enjoying my surroundings.

LeRoy, what a well shot and narrated video. Can't believe you got such nice color out of the old camcorder. Your narration was very smooth, and you told a beautiful story. Great job. Bob

Hi LeRoy,
Good story and good visuals! Nice to see my 10 year old camera still has some years left :) You clearly show that we don't have to use the latest and newest to produce great results. A couple details: The bird shot from 0:40 and the deer shot from 1:00: I guess these were shot handheld. Maybe you could have added some stabilization during editing? Might have improved a little. Especially the bird shot. Those birds at 1:31 looked cold in the snow. Well done! I enjoyed watching. |

Hi LeRoy,
Always look forward to watching your entries. You didn't disappoint this round. Your voiceover delivery sounds so natural. Well done The footage was surprisingly good for a HDV format, maybe we are all chasing dragons in pursuit of better quality footage when the gains with newer formats are so minimal. Mick |

Re: UWOL 56 - Everything Changes
Thanks for all the kind words. This camera has always worked well for me. It took awhile to get a custom picture style that I wanted. Yes the deer footage was handheld. Driving through a local lake park and just happened upon several deer. I was shooting out of the truck window. Most of the heavy movement in the dove footage was due to a very windy day.
Again, thanks for the comments. |
