Re: UWOL 27 "The Rut"
Marj,
Thank you very much for the encouraging feedback, & very constructive comments. I find if very hard to contain myself sometimes, & my telling of what happened with the bull was more my pure excitement over what I had just filmed than good story telling:) Funny you should comment on the infrared shot in the hide since I had tried both colour & infrared shots, opting to use the colour shot earlier in the video, as there was a lot more light coming into the hide, but needing to use the infrared shots from the day I filmed the caribou as it was much darker that day & the normal footage was quite noisy. The hide itself is quite small with a footprint of about 5 feet x 5 feet, so with me in the middle, there's not a lot of room to film with another camera. Actually, on that note though, one of the criticisms I have of the talking head shots is that I am constantly looking at the lcd screen rather than into the lens which I think is distracting. Thanks for picking up on the sound levels, I played with that a few times before I thought I had it right, but after reading your comments, & just having another look at the film, I think you are right, but I think all the music could definitely be a little softer. Regards, Bryce

Cogratulation with your winning film.
An amazing film and a worthy winner. I just want to say I'm sorry about mixing up Lorindas message about the winner. Now I have to visit an optician to buy me new glasses :) All the best. Geir Inge |

Re: UWOL 27 "The Rut"
Hi Geir,
That's no problem at all. Easy to think that Paul's film could have been the winning film, It was a great film for sure, & as Steve wrote in one of his posts, a UWOL classic! Regards, Bryce
