Well I have finally come up with an idea - and I hope I have time to film and edit before the deadline - good luck to all!

When I saw the theme my immediate thought was 'This theme is tailor-made for Dale!" even though you had not signed up yet.

I have been picking up odd useful shots around my garden. I have another opportunity next Saturday to get a few more shots but it is the story that is the dog at the moment. Trying to write the script. Not easy. Hope you are all going well.

I'm trying some voice-morphing software on this one, so my narrative sounds like someone other than me. I was able to get the sound of a Texas school teacher. Unfortunately, there are a lot of unwanted overtones that have to be worked out. These inexpensive software products are intended to make you sound either like an elf or Darth Vader.

That's interesting, Steve.
I look forward to see what you have come up with this time.

My entry is almost edited. Wish I had more than just a couple hours available for filming. Could need some more B-roll. (The rain ruined day 1)
But from the bright side, some living creatures were included.

I can say I have a new found appreciation for those that get involved in this friendly little competition. It's not easy to balance the rest of life and pull it off so easy. Not complaining, I'm glad there is work to get in the way but it does make me look at what gets submitted in a different light. For some this really isn't any different than those 48 hour film challenges. My hat is off to those that submit something.

How's it going out there? You've still got six days to finish and upload your masterpieces!

When you're ready, shoot me an email message through the forum and I'll send you the upload info. You may also send your request to uwol@dvinfo.net, but I'll see it sooner if you send straight to me.

Well, in spite of many obstacles at home, I'm on the finishing straight - a couple of more shots to get, finish the edit, and cross the line!

Come on team - still time to finish!

Re: Tales of wonders and woes - UWOL 27

At the last minute I changed my plan.
The reason is that the IPCC presented its recent report on climate change and this got me to change the plan.
This means that I can not upload my video before Friday 4 October, since I'm away at work. Then it rather be a non qualifying video from me this round.
Attached is an image that says something about my video.
Hope everyone is doing fine.

Re: Tales of wonders and woes - UWOL 27

Ok, well it looks like for the first time in a long time I will in fact get a film finished! I have been looking for a size limit on the file we upload to Vimeo. Is there a limit now? I can't seem to find any mention to one.
Hope everyone else is doing well with there film.

Regards,
Bryce

Re: Tales of wonders and woes - UWOL 27

There is no limit on the file size, Bryce. Like I said in my email reply I'm very happy you're going to have an entry this round!

Sorry we'll miss your video in the competition, Geir Inge, but I'm looking forward to seeing it.

Thanks Lorinda! I second your thoughts of missing Geir's film, but also look forward to seeing it when it's done.

Re: Tales of wonders and woes - UWOL 27

First, I would like to thank all of you that expressed your sympathies and condolences about my father. They are very much appreciated and will be remembered. Things did not work out well for me this round. I’m still suffering a bit from the peripeteia but hope to be back in stride next round. I had several strong ideas but was unable to execute upon any of them. It’s quite disappointing as I have a couple of new techniques I had hoped to share with you. Sorry to let the side down. My best wishes to you all.

We had a number of new folks sign up this round. If any of you, like me, were unable to complete this round, don’t be discouraged. Please sign up and try again next time. We will all be very happy if you do.

Good-luck to all the finishers!

Mike, hope you do well.
Sorry to hear you couldn't finish this round. But luckily December and the next round is right around the corner.
