Why don't we organize our own kind of informal theme and do a challenge?
People could throw some theme ideas in a hat, maybe we take the top five or something and we can go out and do a film based on one of the top five theme? I think we can do polls here so maybe we throw some ideas around and get something going. |

That's a great idea Kevin!
Dale has already given some theme suggestions. How about we use some of these? Say we vote for the "top 3", and then each of us can choose which of these 3 "winner themes" we will use for our video? Of course, if any others also have theme suggestions we can include in the voting, post them. |

Do it yourself.
The UWOL DIY Challenge. I like it too. My suggestion for theme is "Behind the scenes"- one minute showing any footage you want and two minutes showing you getting that footage and discussing setting up the shot, etc.

So far we have these 7 theme suggestions:
This old Tree" "Never ending story" "Mysterium" "Invasive species" "Death of a season" "Modern day ruins" "As time Passes By" "Behind the scenes" How about we make a poll, voting for either one, or the "top 3" of these? If we make it quick, we could have this up and running by Friday, giving people this weekend also to shoot. Then I suggest the deadline to be Sunday March 14, midnight everywhere, which gives us 3 weeks. EDIT: Anyone know if the "make poll" option is gone? I don't see that poll checkbox the FAQ refers to: http://www.dvinfo.net/forum/faq.php?...#faq_vb3_polls |

"Rock of Ages" "A day in the Life" Day in the life would be a one day shoot. |

this is a great idea: lets do it.
One more theme: "ON THE ROAD" Lets each pick three: the three with the most votes will be our options> I will be glad to orchestrate this. I can post the list: then everyone could email me their three, I could consolidate them to the list and post them all or just the final three. be glad to do it. List to date This old Tree" "Never ending story" "Mysterium" "Invasive species" "Death of a season" "Modern day ruins" "As time Passes By" "Behind the scenes" "on the road" "Rock of Ages" "A day in the Life" Dale dale.g@sasktel.net

Ok, let's do what Dale says.
Everyone send a message to Dale with your top 3 choices out of the list, and the 3 most voted themes will be the ones we can choose from when we make our videos. Hurry up and send those mails! Let's get going with UWOL #16... or will this be 15 1/2? ........... Dale, if you need an extra hand organizing this, let me know. |

Sent off some of my suggestions to ya Dale.
This is kind of exciting! :) I like the idea of having a choice form the top three to pick from. Should be no excuse not to get one in. ( myself included ) |

Dale also got my votes.
Can't wait to get started. I'm excited about this one. Since so many already have announced their interests in this thread, should we concider this thread the signup thread? Or how about everyone is required to "signup" in the Theme thread Dale will post later? Ideas? |

Kevin,
I edited the prior message. I had not got your email. Went back and there it was, some great suggestions to by the way. As far as I know these are them all, certainly plenty to pick from.
