A mash note to the players...
You guys rock my world.
I have been in an utterly foul mood lately, too swamped with work to even mention.... ...and I spent all morning watching UWOL films, which I am finally getting around to viewing... ...and it completely shifted my mood from a cranky black cloud to appreciating the wonder and the beauty of the planet and its inhabitants, both animal and human. and, while I just don't have time to comment on every thread, like I typically try to do, I just have to say how amazing and humbling it is to be part of the UWOL gang, to be in the company of such amazing filmmakers. When I get to see 32 films, all infused with the love and effort that you folks put into your work, it truly inspires me. Thank you for your films and for sharing your part of the world with all of us. |

I for one am very glad you posted this thread. I've missed your wonderful sense of humour and professional observations around here and must admit I find it quite hard to imagine you with a cranky black cloud over your head! Anyway - you've been on my mind and glad to hear that you are okay.

Meryem,
Isn't it just wonderful? So many videos, so many varied subjects, and every one of them so well made, as you describe. They would lift the foulest of moods from anyone. I spent a very happy Saturday viewing all the entries and posting comments for them all. It was the best day's viewing I've had for a long time. By watching everyone's entries, I'm learning lots about: - Video, audio and editing techniques - Nature - Culture - Geography - and FUN! What a great bunch of people.

But being in the Shark Tank and on the Wall of Shame, my first two-fer, does get under my skin. I hate not following through on things. But really, because it's more of a sign that I have so little time for the fun things because the work part has overwhelmed everything else. Breaking UWOL's Rule #11 is never a good idea! They send the UWOL police to hunt you down.... The nice thing about UWOL is that they *do* hunt you down. Eric Gulbransen hunted me down and told me funny stories til I laughed. It's true what you say, Mike, UWOL is fulla great people! |

Hey Meryem, glad it's brightened you up. Remember, it's here because of your enthusiasm and commitment - you should be (and rigthly so!) very proud.....
Just one question - what's a mash note? ;-) I take it it's got nothing to do with potatoes and pianos? |
