Yes, and maybe Meryem is still at sleep for now. Boulder Colorado time is about Wednesday 6.30 am and Newcastle Australia is Thursday 0.30 am. So we're living in the same world, but not at the same time? :)
By the way, today I was down in the worlds deepest undersea road tunnel doing an interview with the project leader. Amazing! But not for uwol :( The tunnel will be opening at February 23. |

uh...just to clarify for everyone, the DEADLINE applies to "anywhere in the world" but the actual theme announcement will happen on February 1, Colorado time (Mountain Standard Time), typically after my coffee and after schlepping my daughter to school (she has an 8 am start time).
SO...typically i get the theme out there between 8:30-10 am MST. It's too much for me to over-think these things and play international timekeeper as well! on those periodic occasions when I'm suffering an attack of insomnia, the theme goes out while I'm prowling around the house in the middle of the night, prior to the coffee and schlepping... so, you folks in Oz, think 24 hours from right now... and this thread will be considered closed at midnight tonight, MST...in case anyone is left to sign up... |

Meryem,
this seem to be new all time high in sign-up numbers of challengers?! How many are there now? I'm too lazy to count through all the threads! Seems like Norway has got some new challengers too!

My unofficial count puts us at 54 contestants.
Austrailia: 4 Belgium: 1 Canada: 4 France: 1 Norway: 8 South Africa: 2 Sweden: 1 Turkey: 1 UK: 11 US: 19 Wales: 2 Forgive me if I combined geographic regions that are considered independent entities. Geography has never been my strong suit. |

my official count has 53 sign-ups. per, this puts us at our largest number of sign-ups since our very first Challenge (when we had 72, before anyone, including me, really knew what the heck we were doing...). but you're right, we sure have a crazy Viking invasion going on...Team Viking is really putting up strong numbers, although look at the bloody numbers posted by those Brits! (Mat has been coaching me in how to swear in British, i need to add a few norvegian svear vords to my growing collection....)
but signing up is easy! costs nothing! getting your film completed and posted and chattering with new friends all over the world: priceless! we'll know in 3 weeks...i think our current posted film record stands at 30 for WATER. let's see if, er ah, NOT TELLING can bust it open.... and Andrew, thanks for the stats...quite interesting! |

I'm signing up Howard Bourne, pending Chris' activation of his account.
This also goes for any other new player trying to get on board the Challenge who might be new to DVinfo. When the new accounts stack up, sometimes it takes awhile to be able to post--just shoot me an e-mail at uwol@comcast.net to let me know your intent, and I'll get you signed up. |
