STILL in free T-shirt Contention...
Entering into our final round (UWOL #6) of Year 1 of the UWOL Challenge, these fine folks are still in free t-shirt contention. At the beginning of the year, I promised a free UWOL t-shirt to anyone who completed the full year cycle, and these are the few, the proud, the truly hard-core players who have made this year's Challenge so consistently fun. Challenge #5 seems to have knocked a few off the list!
Geir Inge Gordon Hoffman Brian Mckay Mat Thompson Bruce Foreman Chris Barcellos Per Johan Ruth Happel Dale Guthormsen, pending his re-load The rest of you slackers will be able to purchase these, but these folks, should they complete #6, will be getting a little something in the mail, courtesy of the UWOL Challenge. Of course, the Chief Slacker will need to get off her butt soon and get these things made! Soon! |

Ah, shoot... what about those of us who didn't know about the challenge until after a round was played... but have been faithful since? Yeah, I know... that creates difficulties! Someone could hear about the challenge in #6, and be "faithful" to get their entry in! Rules are rules!

dale's back in the running, since he re-loaded. nice going, dale.
cat, when i first pitched this free t-shirt incentive in Challenge #1, i thought maybe 4 people would pull it off...looks as if these 9 will most likely complete the full year without a hitch, more than twice the number that i originally expected. they have earned a little medal of some sort. |

Cant believe my own eyes, no fate in us at all Meryem? just kidding :)
If I manage to fulfill uwol6 I will put mine in a frame and hang it on the wall in our livingroom :) But to be honest Meryem, you are the one who pull this through, we the others just participating. Thats my opinion and I think you, deserve a T-shirt too and of caurse a big uwol-hug :) Maybe it's time for a uwol gathering, someplace in this wonderful world of ours? |

not a lack of faith, geir, i just had no idea that if i talked chris into throwing this little party that so many of you freeloaders...i mean players...would show up. all i did was open a bag of potato chips and put out a six pack of beer, and the guests poured through the door. i guess the timing was right for this sort of thing.
wait until you see our spread for next year. me n the boys are in the process of planning a few things for UWOL Year 2. however, you must survive my UWOL #6 theme first. heh. heh heh. hahahahahahahahahahaha! |

any time is the right time for UWOL #6, dale! you're gonna love it, i promise. after all, your Challenge is to make a film, mine is to see how many of you t-shirters i can knock into the shark tank before this is all over!
i'm gonna enter the next one too, i don't know how, i don't know what to do with it yet, but i can say it is gonna be most interesting.... if we survive Year 2 and if all of our Year 2 plans materialize, i'm gonna start working on the International UWOL Meet-up for Year 3. I think we can pull something together, but we have a lot to work on just for next year, to make this contest even better. some of it is simple, some of it is going to take a little time, but fortunately, we have a most outstanding and dedicated team assembled, props to kevin and mat! |

The UWOL family has come to stay! We must be optimistic and think positive, right. One other thing: I know you, Mat and Kevin have spent much of your free time, and your own money hosting this challenge. I'm thinking about server space, website, finding judges and sponsors for the prizes, and so on... Maybe it's time for all of us to start sharing the expences. At least I wouldn't mind paying my share. |

Wow! If we have a UWOL get-together and if it's in Norway.... I'm there! Which one of you guys, Per, Trond or Geir can put up 7 goats? Trond, how about your cabin? Then Vera the goat can meet Vera the pooch ;-).

There is a lot of goats (I have counted more than 50) a few miles from our cabin, so 7 more or less wouldn't be any difference, haha.
Vera meets Vera, umm yeah, I think I'm getting an idea for a video... Seriously, Norway or any other part of the world, you can count me in, that's for sure! I'm already looking forward to UWOL#6. |

And to you Meryem; There's something exiting of being part of UWOL, soon as I've finished and uploaded my film I'm longing for the next theme. It has become an important part of my life. Kevin talked about passion to make a film in this round, and I understand him so well. Anyway here's my 10 points of passion for uwol: 1. Sitting here in my "boysroom" waiting for the next theme. 2. "Taste" the theme-word and figure out what to make out of it. 3. Ask my family and friends what they think about my idea. 3. Do a little research on the topic. 4. Do a research on location and places to shoot film. 5. Write a manuscript/storyboard/narrations. 6. Go out there and make the shooting. 7. Editing process. 8. Having a "releaseparty" for my family and friends, yes with popcorn :) 9. Uploading. 10. Waiting for feedback and give my own comments to my uwol friends. Then we're back again at square one, but it looks pretty much like a schedule for a school, don't you think? For me uwol has become an important part of my life. And I love it, thanks to you :) But there's one thing that makes me even more greatful as you mention year 3. I suppose this means we can run this for two more seasons, what a joy :) Think of all those beautiful films we're gonna make, eh? Think of all those nice friends we'll get, eh? And much more: Think of all those nice uwol-hugs you're gonna get in 2009, eh? |

Nice sentiment Geir. I have to agree its really become a cyclic part of my life as well. My cycle is a little different to yours but it is similar.....never had popcorn for it though but I'll make sure I pick some up for UC6....promise!
I'm starting to get a little worried about Meryems plans for UC6...she's sounding very sinister and I'm already wracking my brain as to whats in store! "Think of all those beautiful films we're gonna make, eh?" Very true fella, very true and with the increase in the quality of the film making around here its going to be exciting to see where it all goes ! Bring on year 2....well if we survive UC6 of course :-/ |

As soon as I have finished an uwol film, I'm already looking forward to the next one. And the day the theme is released, I kinda constantly check the forum... Almost like a kid waiting for something good, right. |
