Tree Swallow
While waiting for UWOL #3 to start I've been working on some yard birds. This is a Tree Swallow which is nesting in a box in our yard. Very beautiful bird when the sun hits just right. When I was in college during the mid to late 70's this bird was a transient bird only and did not nest here. Now, there are probably more Tree Swallows nesting in "Bluebird" boxes around here than there are Eastern Bluebirds!

That is a beautiful little bird. It looks kind of cold and has its feathers fluffed-out. WMV seems to be a very good format for showing video clips like this and has a small-enough file for dial-up users. The picture has a much larger window than many other online formats. Getting flying footage of one of those aerobats would be a real challenge. More clips like this would always be welcome.

Rick, you got a bird that I've never seen before. Had to look up in my encyclopedia and it says that it very rare in Europe.
Nice and colorful footage, well done!
