Gordon You know you are going to miss out on the fun of shaking the Christmas gifts trying to figure out what's in it? :) |

Downloading 100/200Mbs of your footage would be well worth it if it would allow me to compare uncompressed XLH1 image quality with the XL2. Unfortunately this would not be possible because I don't have any of your XL2 footage uncompressed. So I could not compare like with like. So what would be the benefit of a big download? It must be that it would show me, not just how splendid you are with H1 but, how much more there is to be seen and appreciated about muskox and other Arctic wildlife than you have already illustrated with XL2 footage. Your findings with various H1 settings might not be very relevant to my warmer vistas, but how well your XLH1 & various lenses & tripod perform and withstand strong winds and lowest temperatures should be fascinating and useful to me. The main thing is come back alive and uninjured as you have done up to now. After that your editing will make the finished product look so insightful and serene that no matter what you shoot I'll be downloading it. Mind yourself and good luck.

Fabulous,
and about time... I think Canon made a great deal. I am sure you will succeed in your Musk Ox project. But I hope you will keep sharing your excellent footage and techniques with us. cheers Per. Sassi |
