FX6: Loons shot with Sony 200-600mm and 2.0x teleconverter
Hey, guess what, more birds!! I shot this loon footage over a period of a couple of weeks whenever they would come within range of my FX6 and 200-600mm lens. I never got the really nice golden hour light (or strong backlight) I was hoping for, but that part is out of my control and I have to play the cards I'm dealt. I will continue to keep my eyes open for the rest of the season and maybe with some luck I'll get what I'm really looking for. In the mean time, here are some loons! Most of the footage was shot at 120 fps. Some footage is S-LOG and the rest is S-Cinetone with final grading in Resolve.

Not bad at all! Great Northern Divers passage and winter visitors here in UK, mainly on salt water and mainly at long range.
I had as usual to switch from Safari to Chrome to view in 4K, ironic in a way given that I'm watching via a 5K iMac. About time Apple grew up a bit! Ron |

Thanks. How did it look it 4K? I'm on the road and only have a MacBook Pro to edit/grade.

Doug, very impressive video clips. I watched it in 4K, even with the 2x on the birds eyes were tack sharp. The slow motion was so smooth and clear, especially when they are stretching their wings. Safe travels, I leave tomorrow for the Pee Dee in the morning. Bob

Excellent in 4K even the compressed YouTube version. Good that you got a few calls and hence a bit of realtime footage.

Ron and Bob, thanks for the feedback. Without my regular monitors and scopes I feel like I'm flying blind as to what things actually look like.
