My Raptor
This morning I got lucky close to a Bald Eagle feeding on a fish.

Re: My Raptor
David, How the hell did you pull that off? Were you in a hide and just get lucky? How come you have two angles and they're both really tight shots? Beautifully clear. Beatiful bird. Well done.

Re: My Raptor
This is quite an amazing piece, David. It seems that your higher closeup near the end of the video has a greater depth of field than the lesser closeup at the beginning, and both are equally sharp. How on earth
did you do that? Mind telling what camera and lenses you are using? |

Re: My Raptor
I was within 20 feet of the Eagle and slightly 3 feet above it. My first shot was from one side, then I walked around and was able to shoot additional footage from a 180 degree different angle from the first shoot.
The Bald Eagle was more interested in defending it's catch from other eagles than fearing me. I shot from a tripod using a Canon 60D with the 100-400mm lens. I don't use a hide. I'm a stalker. A throw back to my past hunting days. I'm starting to put some of my video & information on a blog at: alaskavideo.blogspot.com. I'll try to post a new video weekly. Enjoy, Dave |
