Drowned Rats
After a torrential rain storm, some of my local Bald Eagles look like drowned rats. A few Bald Eagle clips.

Re: Drowned Rats
Good evening,
I am a rator guy, loved the footage!! What were the small fish they were literally plucking out of the water? Wish I had eagles close at hand to film in the breeding season!! We only get them in October and November, then a few in April. You are so fortunate!! Nice footage by the way.

Re: Drowned Rats
Dale,
The small fish are spawning Pacific Herring. S.E. Alaska Bald Eagles congregate by the thousands near Haines Alaska in November thru January for a late Chum Salmon run. Great Filming. In March thru April the Eagles fly back over here to Sitka for the Herring run. The Pacific Herring spawn covers over 40 miles of beaches in Sitka Sound. Also we have the World famous Sitka Sound Sac Roe Herring Fishery. Great Filming. May thru July the Eagles spread out, bread, nest, and do what ever they do. Tough filming. In August the Eagles are congregating on our local salmon streams. Good filming again. Then in November, they fly back to Haines. Now you have enough information to plan your trip to S.E. Alaska to film Bald Eagles. |
